Who are we?

We are Malcolm & Sheila Powell, both born in the same year in different parts of England and going to different schools together, eventually marrying in Nineteen Hundred and mumble mumble.  If you ring, it could be either of us answering, although all E-Mail and faxes are dealt with entirely by Malcolm.

Angel Talk Limited was established in 1981 to provide a service, not just a product.

It all started after Easter 1981 when Malcolm was asked to find somewhere to duplicate cassettes of the recording of the Easter Production made at Bracknell Baptist Church (now Bracknell Family Church meeting at the Kerith Centre) to which we belonged at the time. We now attend The Wokingham Vineyard Church.

Having found Gemini Sound at Hook in Hampshire to make the required 40 cassette copies, Malcolm felt the Lord telling him to set up a company in Bracknell, to do real time (in the highest quality), cassette duplication, obtaining custom length blanks from Gemini Sound for the purpose. David Wright of Gemini Sound has subsequently taught Malcolm just about everything which he now knows about Cassette Duplication and recording in general! The name of "Angel Talk" was given separately to both Malcolm & Sheila some months before either of us realised that the company was to be started, hence there was no discussion about a name when we finally had confirmation from the Lord Jesus, that we were to go ahead with starting the company.

This started with a Sharp Optonica Double Cassette Deck, a Revox B77 MkII ¼ inch Open Reel Deck, a Revox B710 Cassette Deck, a Revox B750 MkII Amplifier and a pair of Kef Concorde Loudspeakers. This equipment list progressed to include 16 more Revox B215 and H1 Cassette Decks for the duplication, several different format input devices, the purchase of a Cassette Winder from Gemini Sound, a SADiE 24/96 CD mastering system. With the impending demise of the Cassette market, a MediaFORM CD copying Tower was purchased, followed by an auto-loading version and a Copytrax Artmaster 100 Inkjet CD printer . The Cassette decks are now going and the Cassette Winder will go soon. We also now have a DVD/CD auto-loading copier to add to the auto-loading CD copier.

Since this lot was slowly but surely taking over the whole house in Abbey Close, we had to move to our present address in order to accommodate it all - Sheila wanted her house back please! Now the company only occupies the study, one single bedroom and part of the entrance hall! Doesn't everyone move to a bigger house when the children (3 sons) have left home?
